A Land with History
The land that will one day become Nehiel has been in my family for over a century, originally owned by my grandfather or great-grandfather. Over time, it was divided among heirs.
- After my grandfather passed away, the land was divided into two main sections: one for his wife (my grandmother) and one for their children.
- Initially, my grandparents had 13 children, but at the time of inheritance, 12 were still living, so the second section was split into 12 portions.
- When my grandmother passed in 2015, her section was divided among those 12 heirs.
- Each heir received two sections of land: one at the front, bordering the river, and one at the back.
Since 2018, I have been gradually acquiring these portions with the goal of reuniting the land into one single space dedicated entirely to the purpose God has placed in my heart: a spiritual retreat where people can come to seek Him.
The Meaning Behind the Name: Nehiel
The name Nehiel is not random—it carries deep significance.
In prayer, I sought guidance from the Lord on what to name this place, and I was led to the word Nehiel in Scripture. Through further study, I discovered that Nehiel is connected to Asher, one of the twelve tribes of Israel.
- Asher was Jacob’s eighth son, and his name means "happy."
- When Jacob blessed his sons, he said:
“Asher’s food will be rich; he will provide delicacies fit for a king.” (Genesis 49:20) - In Deuteronomy 33:24-25, Moses declared:
“Most blessed of sons is Asher; let him be favored by his brothers, and let him bathe his feet in oil. The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze, and your strength will equal your days.”
This blessing resonated deeply with me. Nehiel represents a place where the children of God will bring a spiritual feast to the King through worship and devotion.
The presence of the Lord does not dwell in a place simply because of its location but because His people gather in His name. Nehiel will not just be a beautiful retreat—it will be a place of worship, a space where believers come apart to spend time with the Lord, deepening their relationship with Him.
Challenges and Future Development
While the vision is clear, there is much work to be done:
Access to the land is difficult.
- There is no bridge to cross the river.
- Reaching the property requires climbing over rocks and steep terrain.
- The area is not mountainous, but it has significant slopes, making access challenging.
Infrastructure is needed.
- To make Nehiel accessible for church retreats, roads and pathways will need to be built.
- The land is currently used for cacao farming, so people will also enjoy the cacao experience in a functional retreat space.
Despite these challenges, I trust in God’s timing and provision. This is a journey of faith, and each step is guided by the vision He placed in my heart in 2018.

What’s Next?
Right now, the project is in its foundational phase. The land is being gradually secured, and plans for development are taking shape.
📍 Coming soon: I will be adding images of the river, the land, and a general location map so you can get a glimpse of this special place.
If you feel called to be part of this vision—whether through prayer, encouragement, or simply by following along on this journey—I would love to have you with me.
